Le Shan Giant Buddha
it the only place we will take you that is well known but I believe that spending few hours in the area is a nice way to start getting familiar with the surrounding, before to jump in the real remoteness. Leshan and Emeishan, at the same time, create a sacred kingdom of Buddha. Leshan has the largest stone Buddha and tallest pre-modern statue in the world. While Emeishan is noted for fabulous temples, Buddha statue as well as the fascinating mountain view.
The Yi are an ethnic group in China, Vietnam, and Thailand. One of the 56th ethnic minority groups officially recognized by the People’s Republic of China. They live primarily in rural areas of Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi, usually in mountainous regions. Most Yi are farmers; herders of cattle, sheep and goats; and nomadic hunters. They are one of the most preserved ethnic which still live in a very traditional way, especially the one spread in south Sichuan. The Yi speak various Loloish languages Tibeto-Burman languages closely related to Burmese. The prestige variety is Nuosu, which is written in the Yi script.
The Litang Monastery is also known as Ganden Thubchen Choekhorling Monastery, meaning Happy Buddha Dharma, symbolizing the moral dharma turning and the true essence holds forever. This monastery was founded by the Dalai Lama III in 1580. The monastery boasts a history of almost 500 years. Because it is the oldest and largest Tibetan Buddhism monastery in the Kham Area, and has close relationship with the Three Big Monasteries in Lhasa.
Built in 1985, Yarchen (Yaqing) Monastery is located in Baiyu County of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan, right in the middle of a triangle area with vertices in Garze County, Baiyu, and Xinlong. In Kham, Yarchen Monastery is as large a concentration of Sanghas as Seda Wuming Buddhist Institute. There are over ten thousand Sanghas in Yarchen Monastery, most of whom are nuns. In the Tibetan area, nuns are called “jo-mos”, sharing the same term with mothers and sisters of a King, which implies people’s respect toward nuns. Government is not really advertising much all Tibetan places in china and not many tourist know this Monastery that why this place still hold a authenticity of a real Tibetan atmosphere.
Songge Mani Stone
Mound is located at 4500 meters above seal level in Arizha township of Shiqu county in Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture of southwest China’s Sichuan province. Songge Man Stone Town was built in the 11-12 century. Mani stones are stone plates, rocks and/or pebbles, inscribed with the six syllabledmantra of Avalokiteshvara (Om mani padme hum, hence the name “Mani stone”), as a form of prayer in Tibetan Buddhism. Is the world’s largest man-made stone town, is the pinnacle of man-made stone culture. It is like the Tibetan plateau runs through the “divine” mirage, as if given by God. Very few non-Tibetan visit this spectacular structure/monastery, it is an incredible place where you can breath the magical Tibetan spirit.
